GEA Brewery Systems (Bulmers), Hereford

Supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to over 250m of external stainless steel pipework up to 150mm dia. We also supplied a small amount of self regulating heating tape for installation by others to valves at the top of the BCV vessel.

Wilton Centre, Redcar


The Wilton Centre provides office, laboratory and pilot plant accommodation. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a high temperature trace heating system to maintain pipework between +100ºC and +180ºC within a Zone I, Gas Group 11b, Classification T3, hazardous area.

University College London, Howland Street

For this new research centre at UCL, to be known as the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, ESH supplied and installed trace heating to provide frost protection to the following external pipework:

  • Ground floor - feed pipework to salt saturators
  • Level 4 - Heat rejection pipework to cooler
  • Level 6 - CHW and LTHW pipework 
  • Level 6 - Cold water pipework to pressurisation unit and bib taps
  • Level 6 - Heat recovery pipework

550m of FBTBOJ self regulating heating cable was supplied and installed on all cold and chilled water pipework, along with 970m of H2OWAT55 for all other services.

New Primark Store, Northampton

ESH were contracted to supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to the external chilled water pipework on the roof, mezzanine area and service yard. The system was designed using type VCBOJ constant wattage heating tape.

Innovation House, Oxford

Within this brand new student accommodation building, ESH supplied and installed frost protection trace heating to two runs of external water pipework. Tapes were pre-terminated into JBT thermostats for quick installation on site.

LA Fitness Gym, Birmingham

Within this popular gym, ESH supplied and installed a simple frost protection trace heating system to external heating pipework associated with an air handling unit.

Veolia Environmental, Tysley

Supplied and installed trace heating to provide temperature maintenance of +110°C to a fly ash hopper. The steel hopper, 2m tall and 2.3m square, was installed with mineral insulated heating cable in order to achieve the required temperatures.
